Food service in a continuing care home runs on several systems that rarely talk to each other: menu software, spreadsheets, purchasing and the clinical record. When retyping between them costs your team hours each week, a small piece of custom software can remove the step. NutraPlanner scopes, builds and supports that work, as a project with a fixed quote.
- Each project starts with a short scoping call and a written statement of work with a fixed quote.
- Contracts state, at a minimum, the scope, who provides the work and their qualifications, any required insurance, and how resident information is handled, following what the Alberta standards ask of service contracts.
- Work that would touch resident information starts with a privacy impact assessment, before any build.
Typical projects
- Turning a menu export into the format another system or report needs.
- Producing daily menu sheets or production counts from the cycle your team already maintains.
- Combining menu, substitution and feedback records into one place for your food service lead.
- Reporting across several sites for an operator.
Many homes need none of this: a menu review works from your existing export, and a substitution record can be kept on paper.
How a project runs
- A scoping call with your food service lead and whoever looks after your systems.
- A written statement of work: what will be built, by when, at what price, and what data it uses.
- A privacy impact assessment first if any resident information would be involved.
- Build, testing with your team, handover and an agreed support period.
What any contract for services in a home must contain is set out in the service contract guide.
Common questions
What must a service contract include for an Alberta continuing care home?
The accommodation standards ask that a contract for services state, at a minimum, its scope, who provides the service and their qualifications, if applicable a requirement to carry any required insurance, and how personal information about residents is handled.
Do you connect to PointClickCare?
Not at present. A connection to a clinical record would involve resident health information and a vendor partner agreement, and would be scoped only with a privacy impact assessment.
Who owns what is built?
Ownership, licensing and support terms are set out in the statement of work before any build starts.
Custom work is provided by NutraPlanner under a statement of work, not by a dietitian, and is quoted per project. It does not establish that a home meets any standard.
