For Canadian clinics
A nutrition service for your clinic's dietitian
Intake, scheduling, meal plans, programs and follow-ups for the dietitian in a medical, weight-management or multidisciplinary clinic. Patient data is protected under PIPEDA and Quebec's Law 25.
Programs and cohorts
Build a program that sends a new lesson each week, enrol patients in a group that starts together (a cohort), and give them a client portal to follow along.
Meal plans built around restrictions
Filter recipes by restrictions and nutrients, set a protein target for each patient, and send meal-plan PDFs with your branding.
See who needs attention
Patients log symptoms in the portal with a symptom type and a 0–10 severity. The follow-ups worklist shows the dietitian who to look at first.
How it works
1. Set up the service
Create your account, then add your branding, intake forms and booking page.
2. Bring in your patients
Import your patient list from a CSV file and update many records at once.
3. Start a program
Enrol patients in a cohort and release the program weekly. Patients follow along in the portal and log symptoms there.
4. Follow up
Work through the follow-ups list each day, and book the next visit from the same record.

Frequently asked questions
Does this replace our EMR?
No. NutraPlanner is not an electronic medical record (EMR) system and does not connect to one today. It holds the nutrition service: intake, meal plans, programs, symptom logs and follow-ups. Your EMR stays your record for everything else.
Who signs off the clinical content?
Your clinic's dietitian decides what each patient receives. Program content that NutraPlanner supplies is reviewed by a registered dietitian before release.
Is patient data stored in Canada?
Yes. NutraPlanner's application servers and database are hosted in Canada (Toronto). Some subprocessors are in the US; they are listed in our Privacy Policy. Sensitive patient information is also encrypted at the field level.
Can several dietitians share one clinic account?
Not yet. Team accounts are not available, so each clinic account works for one dietitian today.
Is NutraPlanner suitable for US practices covered by HIPAA?
No. NutraPlanner is built for Canadian clinics. We do not sign business associate agreements, so it is not set up for HIPAA-covered US practices.
